The main duties of the postholder include the supervision of the in-house Facilities Assistants (Domestic) and cleaning services across Stepping Hill Hospital. The postholder will be responsible for the completion of staff rotas to ensure there is always sufficient cover to deliver the standards set in the NHS National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021 and other standard operating procedures.

The postholder will be expected to carry out regular spot checks of the environment, including estates jobs as required, supervisor audits and overall supervision of the sites to ensure that the soft facilities management (FM) services meet the requirements of our staff and service users.

The postholder will be joining the facilities team which is within the Capital Investment and Estates Services department at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, delivering all soft FM services across the Trust. The team are passionate about ensuring we provide high-quality and effective facilities services to our staff and service users. The team demonstrate and live by the Trust values and behaviours each day, and we work together as one team.

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualifications or training to Level 3 plus further experience to Level 4
  • GCSE level A-C or equivalent

Desirable

  • City and Guilds in cleaning principles
  • BICS trained
  • IOSH Managing Safely

Experience

Essential

  • Working in soft FM services in a healthcare setting
  • Supervising a cleaning team
  • Rota management
  • Dealing with HR issues such as sickness.
  • Working with payroll and timesheets

Desirable

  • Working in the NHS
  • Working in a mental health NHS Trust
  • Carrying out cleanliness audits

Knowledge

Essential

  • NPSA colour coding system
  • National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021
  • Understanding and developing COSHH and risk assessments
  • Auditing and checking cleaning standards
  • Knowledge of different soft FM services
