Looking for your next challenge in adult social care?
We’ve got an exciting full-time opportunity for a dedicated and experienced 7B Social Worker to join our Holderness Adult Community Wellbeing Team, based in Hornsea and working across East Yorkshire with a flexible blend of office and home working. The ability to drive is essential.
This is a maternity cover position and is offered on a fixed-term basis until 18 July 2027, or until the substantive postholder returns, whichever is sooner. Working hours and working patterns are negotiable and can be discussed with the successful candidate.
We’re looking for a Social Work England registered professional with solid experience and a genuine commitment to supporting adults in the community. Supervisory or mentoring experience is essential, as you’ll help shape practice, support colleagues, and foster a positive, learning-focused team culture.
- Working within the Care Act 2014 framework
- Carrying out person-centred assessments in community and hospital settings
- Undertaking court work, including preparing reports, presenting evidence, and working within legal frameworks to support safeguarding and best outcomes for individuals
- Co-producing care and support plans, and reviewing outcomes
- Participating in the duty rota to respond to urgent and complex situations
- A strong understanding of adult social care legislation, including the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Care Act 2014, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Strong IT and written skills to maintain accurate records and support performance monitoring
- A flexible, proactive approach to working under pressure
- A full driving licence—essential due to the wide geographical area covered (mileage allowance provided)
- A comprehensive induction
- Regular supervision and development reviews
- Ongoing training and career development opportunities
- A supportive team culture focused on growth, quality, and innovation
Our team currently operates Monday to Friday, but we’re actively exploring a move to seven-day working to better meet the needs of our community.
Please note you must hold a social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England to apply for this role
