They post holder be responsible for the effective and efficient operational management of the enhanced care team. The enhanced care team leader will be responsible for working within the set budget, clinical governance, and staff development and training.The post holder will be expected to provide professional leadership within the clinical area and provide direction, and inspirational leadership to all members of the multi-disciplinary team working with the enhanced care team. The post holder will be involved in the development of protocols / guidelines and patient information.
They will work collaboratively with ward teams and the Liaison Psychiatry Service to ensure patients receive effective, high quality clinical support to enhance mental health care, in accordance with the principles of least restriction.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that there are systems and processes for the planning, provision and review of enhanced care. The post holder will ensure that the enhanced care team deliver therapeutic engagement and interventions to patients with mental health conditions, cognitive impairment or those experiencing psychological distress.
They will provide regular reports on the effectiveness of the team in delivering quality care by reducing restrictive practices and incidents of harm.

Education and Training
Essential
- Current professional registration as an RMN/AHP/Social Worker with extensive experience of managing a caseload of patients.
- Educated to a degree level or equivalent experience in Healthcare service.
- Mentorship course
- Management qualification or equivalent experience
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in relevant area of speciality supplemented by specialist clinical, managerial training and CPD
Desirable
- Post graduate teaching certificate/module.
- Relevant post registered qualifications
- Safeguarding Adults Level 3
- PNA
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Ability to use own initiative and organise and prioritise own delegated workload
- Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills and to be flexible and adapt to changing situations
- Ability to function effectively under pressure and deal with the unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact
- Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non-verbal) and good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player, as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Well-developed IT skills
- Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision
- Able to chair multi-agency meetings
- Knowledge and experience of clinical governance
- Knowledge of patient discharge processes
- Knowledge of healthcare funding processes
- Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to patient care

- Experience of taking part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities
Experience
Essential
- Extensive experience of managing an area; including management of rotas, resources, budgets and staff.
- Experience in staff / practice development including undertaking appraisals, supervision and Personal Development Plans
- Recent Complex Care experience
- Evidence of working extensively within Mental Health Nursing / Social care settings
- Extensive experience of Mental Health Service Provision including the Mental Health Act 1983
- Experience of delivering/supporting training
Desirable
- An understanding of local health and social care commissioning
- Evidence of participation in using recognised assessment tools
- Experience of conducting own projects successfully and follow through action
- Experience of working with patients with a dual diagnosis - drug and alcohol
