- Assist with the preparation and discharge of patients undergoing endoscopic procedures under the guidance of the Registered Nurse/Endoscopy Assistant Practitioner.
- Preparation of the endoscopy room and recovery area
- Assist the Endoscopy Assistant Practitioner/Endoscopist in diagnostic procedures once trained/educated and competent, following standard procedures.
- Assist the Registered Nurse/Endoscopist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures once trained/educated and competent, following standard procedures.
- Positioning of patients during endoscopic procedures.
- Airway management during endoscopic procedures once trained/educated and competent, following standard procedures
- Monitoring and recording of patient observations during endoscopic procedures and alerting senior staff to any problems.
- Preparation of endoscopic equipment prior to and during endoscopic procedures.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
Essential: - A minimum of 2 years as a clinical support worker; - NVQ level 3 or equivalent
Desirable: - Previous NHS experience; - Previous endoscopy experience; - Awareness of Endoscopy
