Job description

Domiciliary Care Assistant – Full Time – AV2064C

Location: Dorking, Surrey

Pay: £15.11 – £16.61 per hour

Hours: 36 hours per week

We are recruiting on behalf of a respected not-for-profit charitable organisation providing high-quality care and support within the local community.

The organisation takes a genuinely person-centred approach, putting people before profits and focusing on enhancing the wellbeing, dignity and quality of life of those receiving care.

The care team takes the time to understand each individual’s unique needs, preferences and personality, ensuring that support is tailored around the person rather than simply following a routine.

As a Domiciliary Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care and support to individuals in their own homes, helping them maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.

You will build trusting relationships with the people you support and provide practical assistance with their day-to-day needs, while encouraging independence wherever possible.

  • Providing compassionate care and support within service users’ own homes
  • Supporting individuals with personal care and daily living activities
  • Assisting with washing, dressing and personal hygiene
  • Supporting mobility and maintaining independence
  • Providing support with meals, hydration and nutrition
  • Offering companionship and emotional support
  • Supporting individuals to access the local community where required
  • Encouraging service users to remain active and independent
  • Following individual care plans and risk assessments
  • Monitoring and reporting any changes in health or wellbeing
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential care records
  • Working closely with colleagues, families and other professionals
  • Promoting dignity, choice, privacy and respect at all times

We are looking for a caring, reliable and compassionate individual who is passionate about supporting people to live independently in their own homes.

  • Previous experience in domiciliary care or a similar care setting
  • A genuine passion for providing high-quality, person-centred care
  • A caring, patient and respectful approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with service users
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Reliable and professional approach to work
  • Willingness to undertake training and develop your skills
  • Commitment to promoting dignity, independence and choice

  • £15.11 – £16.61 per hour
  • 36 hours per week
  • Supportive and experienced team
  • Person-centred approach to care
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Opportunity to build meaningful relationships with those you support
  • Work for a not-for-profit charitable organisation
  • Rewarding role making a genuine difference in the community
  • Opportunities for career progression
