Domestic Housekeeper

The Domestic Housekeeper is an important member of the team who supports the wards. Assisting with completing patient menus, preparing & serving patient breakfasts and proving hot & cold refreshments at regular intervals.

Other responsibilities include daily cleaning of equipment and patient kitchen areas, ensuring fridge temperatures are taken and recorded accurately.

Maintaining the required levels of stock and rotation of food items.

You will be required to carry out specific duties to set procedures and standards. You will be required to work as part of a team and have the ability to use a degree of initiative to prioritise and organise the daily duties, whilst maintaining a professional approach at all times.

Qualifications

Essential: - Level 1 functional skills in English and Maths; - Can demonstrate basic level of computer literacy; - Food Hygiene Level 1

Desirable: - Food Hygiene Level 2

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential: - Demonstrate an understanding of the domestic housekeeping role within a healthcare setting

Desirable: - Experience working within a healthcare setting; - Knowledge of infection control; - Knowledge of COSHH; - Previous catering experience

Skills & Abilities

Essential: - A good understanding of Trust Values and Behaviours and ability to demonstrate these values in the working day
