Deputy Ward Manager

All applicants are expected to keep abreast with new initiatives and interventions within nursing care. A deputy is expected to drive mandatory training and other courses which are relevant to the ward.

Staff will receive induction and support through staff meeting and personal development reviews.

In general, this is an exciting and fascinating ward opportunity for professional development and expertise in the field.

Qualifications

Essential: - RGN with experience at band 5 level; - RGN with experience in surgical setting

Desirable: - Evidence of ongoing professional development; - Evidence of leadership / change module; - Evidence of degree or working towards

Knowledge and Experience

Essential: - Has good clinical knowledge of acute setting; - Clear understanding of governance issues

Desirable: - Extended skills such as phlebotomy and cannulation; - Evidence of carrying out audit; - Evidence of staff management - off duty / sickness and absence
