Deputy Nursery Manager Location: Roehampton, Wandsworth, LondonSalary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annumJob Type: Full TimeStart Date: ASAP / September 2026 About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Deputy Nursery Manager to join a welcoming and supportive early years setting in Roehampton. The Deputy Nursery Manager will work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the effective day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring that children receive the highest standards of care, education and support in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced early years professional who is ready to take the next step in their leadership career and play a key role in supporting both children and staff. Key Responsibilities

Support the Nursery Manager with the effective day-to-day operation of the nursery.

Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, compliance and EYFS practice are maintained.

Provide leadership, guidance and support to nursery staff, acting as a positive role model.

Encourage staff development and promote a strong culture of teamwork and professional growth.

Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive.

Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers.

Ensure effective communication with families, providing a welcoming and supportive experience.

Support the implementation of policies and procedures across the setting.

Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the nursery.

Help ensure the nursery operates efficiently and continues to provide high-quality early years provision.

About the Ideal Candidate The successful Deputy Nursery Manager will have a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and previous experience within an early years setting, ideally with leadership or supervisory responsibilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

A recognised Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.

Previous experience within an early years setting, with leadership experience highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

The ability to lead, motivate and support a team.

A genuine passion for providing outstanding care and education to young children.

A positive, proactive and professional approach.

The confidence to work alongside the Nursery Manager and take responsibility when required.
