An excellent opportunity for an experienced Team Leader, Senior Practitioner or Deputy Manager to take the next step in their career.

Our client is a growing provider of supported accommodation for young people and is looking for a confident and motivated Deputy Manager to join their team in Plymouth.

Supporting young people aged 16–17, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to help ensure the service is safe, well-led and focused on achieving positive outcomes for the young people in its care.

This is a hands-on management position offering the opportunity to make a genuine difference while developing your career within children's services.

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will support the effective day-to-day running of the service and deputise in their absence.

  • Supporting Ofsted readiness and maintaining high standards across the service.
  • Assisting with recruitment, induction, training and staff development.
  • Supporting staffing levels, rotas and the day-to-day operational management of the service.
  • Participating in the management on-call rota when required.

We're looking for someone who is experienced, approachable and confident in leading others.

  • Senior Practitioner
  • Children's Residential Practitioner
  • Supported Accommodation professional
  • Leaving Care or young people's services professional

You'll ideally have experience working with children or young people, together with a strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and promoting positive outcomes.

  • A relevant Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People, Residential Childcare, Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Experience supervising or supporting other members of staff.
  • Experience contributing to support plans, risk assessments, audits or quality assurance.
  • Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • A commitment to promoting young people's independence, safety and wellbeing.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Experience within supported accommodation, Ofsted-regulated services, working with 16–17-year-olds or a Level 5 management qualification would be advantageous.

However, strong candidates with transferable children's services experience are encouraged to apply.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced children's services professional looking to step up into Deputy Management, or an existing Deputy Manager looking for a fresh challenge.

If you're a confident leader who is passionate about developing people, maintaining high standards and helping young people achieve positive outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
