Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust for a Band 6 Deputy Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our brand-new Alcohol...

Delivers direct specialist care to patients with alcohol dependence and related harm, working as part of the Alcohol Care Team.
Supports systematic screening and assessment of patients across the acute site.
Supports safe, structured alcohol detoxification pathways, moving away from unplanned, ad hoc care.
Builds effective working relationships with specialist partners including One Recovery Bucks and BeHealthyBucks.
Provides advice, education and support to colleagues, students and patients to build confidence and challenge stigma.
Contributes to clinical audit and data collection to help demonstrate the impact of the new service.
Works with the Band 7 lead and Matron to help shape and grow the service.
Displays excellent communication and team-working skills, always championing person-centred, non-stigmatising care.

Qualifications

Essential: - Registered nurse (adult) with current NMC registration; - Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable: - Alcohol or drug abuse / addiction or relevant specialist course; - Degree level nursing qualification or equivalent

Experience

Essential: - Minimum 3 years post registration experience; - Experience of managing a caseload autonomously; - Experience of multidisciplinary working

Desirable: - Previous band 6 experience; - Experience of looking after patients with addiction; - Experience of delivering specialist education to patients and teams
