Dental Nurse

Role specific duties

To receive and prepare patients who need to undergo minor oral surgery/orthodontic/restorative procedures. To assist the clinician throughout such treatment, to assist in the supervision of the patient until they are fit to leave the department. To ensure dental surgery duties for the maxillofacial unit are under taken in an efficient and professional manner.

Provide Specialist chair side assistance within the department and Reception

Qualifications and training

Essential: - Previous experience as a Dental nurse for a minimum of 2 years post qualification; - Current Registration with the GDC

Desirable: - Practical experience across a range of specialist procedures appropriate to the department - Restorative/Orthodontic/Maxillofacial

Essential: - Awareness of the GDC standards; - To be aware of and adhere to the Trusts Vision, Mission and Values.

Personal/professional attributes

Desirable: - A theoretical and practical knowledge of minor oral surgery and Orthodontic procedures.
