This intensive training post offers a unique blend of clinical practice and academic learning, enabling you to develop expertise in evidence-based systemic interventions within real-world CAMHS settings. This is a fixed-term training post funded through NHS England's CYP Psychological Therapies Programme. Successful applicants will be employed within the service whilst simultaneously undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma programme. The training will begin in January 2027 with around 2.5 days a week for academic work (teaching and personal study), and 2.5 days based at the service seeing clients related to training assignments. Trainees will be both an employee of the service and an enrolled student with King's College London. Upon completion, qualified trainees will receive a KCL Postgraduate Diploma.

You will work with children, young people and families from diverse cultural, social and ethnic backgrounds and will be supported to provide inclusive, culturally responsive care. Alongside direct clinical work, you will have opportunities to contribute to service development initiatives, quality improvement projects, clinical audit, service evaluation and research activities, helping to shape and enhance mental health services across Bedfordshire and Luton

Please note that this is a dual-application process. To be eligible for shortlisting, candidates must apply both for:

  • The trainee post with our organisation; and
  • The King's College London (KCL) Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Young Person Psychological Therapies.

The Course Team will liaise with us on whether you meet the academic requirements for the course during the recruitment process. You will only be offered a KCL training place if you are successful in securing this post and you meet the university training requirements (such as academic background, relevant experience, visa approval).

Further information regarding course eligibility and application requirements can be found through the course guidance and supporting documentation. Applicants are advised to submit both applications at the same time.
