Consultant Psychiatrist General Adult CMHT

Duties will be in line with those of a Consultant Psychiatrist in a community setting. The post holder will be responsible, alongside the MDT for assessment and management of referrals accepted by the CMHT of those with mood and psychotic disorders, trauma based presentations and personality disorder. Given the nature of the work, there will be responsibilities in relation to the Mental Health Act (CTOs) including representation at tribunal hearings and assessing consent to treatment.

There will be a requirement for significant liaison with colleagues to facilitate transitions, planning care and discharge.

Qualifications

Essential: - MBChb (MBBS) and MRCPsych; CCT or CESR in general adult psychiatry

Skills

Essential: - Evidence of ability to work well in MDT; - Evidence of previous leadership experience and/or motivation in developing medical leadership
