The appointee will join an enthusiastic and friendly of Respiratory Medicine which is an integral part of the Division of Emergency Care and Medicine ...

To take consultant responsibility for allocated inpatients, with support from a designated team of junior doctors based on the respiratory ward.

To provide Consultant led in reach service to ward and acute medicine referrals.

To conduct general respiratory outpatient clinics Lung cancer clinics

To maintain effective communication and handover to the on-call team.

To Work within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals and managers to further develop local respiratory services.

To take part in the weekend General Medical on-call rota with colleagues, currently 1 in 18, as first on-call 8:30 till 20:30 and a second on call covers the wards from 9:00 till 14:30 at weekends. 1:18 week day night on calls.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCP

Desirable

  • Other professional qualification or higher degree e.g. in medical education, clinical research or management.

Experience

Essential

  • Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council.
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in Respiratory Medicine

Desirable

  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) at time of interview
