Applications are invited for a full-time Consultant Histopathologist to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team of supportive Cellular Pathology Cons...
The appointee would have interest primarily in breast pathology, with further interests in some of: gynaecological pathology, breast pathology, head and neck, endocrine, and pulmonary pathology. The post would suit either a first-time Consultant or an established Consultant Histopathologist wishing to relocate. There is no cervical cytology requirement. Together we will provide and develop a wide-ranging cellular pathology service to primary, secondary and tertiary care colleagues.
The appointee will take a lead role in the development of specialist diagnostic techniques to meet the increasing demands of clinical users and will participate in the training of specialty trainees, scientific and BMS staff. A commitment to contribute to the requirements of clinical governance and share in the administrative duties associated with the running of a clinical laboratory is also expected.

Qualifications
Essential
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise
- On Specialist Register for specialty / Specialty Registrar with CCT / CESR(CP) due within six months of interview date. Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR)
- FRCPath or equivalent by examination
- Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
Experience

- Broad training and experience in adult pathology
Desirable
- Sub-specialist experience in one or more areas
Ability
Essential
- Commitment to team approach and multi-disciplinary working
- Counselling / Communication skills
Audit
Essential
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice
- Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance
- Evidence of engagement with revalidation
Teaching

- Evidence of teaching medical students and junior doctors
- Organisation of (undergraduate and/or postgraduate) teaching programmes
Personal Qualities
