Community Staff Nurse (Health Visiting)

Based within the community setting the Community Staff Nurse will be responsible for assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of care offered to families under the supervision of the Delegated Health Visitor .They will be responsible for co-ordinating and managing their own work load and delivering evidenced based practice to families, delivering the Healthy Child Wales Contacts.

We offer an induction and preceptorship programme and the post holder will receive regular managerial supervision, and safeguarding supervision from our Clinical Nurse Specialist Safeguarding.

This post may be seen as a developmental post, with the applicant possibly applying for the SCPHN training in the future.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential: - RGN /RN with children's nursing experience

Desirable: - RSCN or Child Branch; - Previous community experience; - Previous experience working within a skill mix team

Skills

Desirable: - Able to use formal assessment tools / clinical interviews; - Able to implement specific evidence based approaches

Experience

Knowledge

Desirable: - Understanding of service structures and inter-agency working; - Knowledge of evidence based practice

Personal qualities (Demonstrable)

Desirable: - Able to travel to other sites
