The post holder will be required to work closely with other clinicians and healthcare professionals, providing clinical advice, assessment and support for patients with respiratory conditions.

Qualification/Training

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with current UK Professional Registration (NMC registered)
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Experience in performing spirometry and willingness to complete ARTP accreditation for this role if successful in gaining the role (accreditation will be supported by Respiratory Physiology UHCW).
  • Study at level 7 (masters level)
  • Relevant Spirometry qualification, or willingness to undertake.

Desirable

  • Counselling Course or Module
  • Relevant COPD qualification (or willing to undertake)
  • Teaching and assessing qualification.
  • Teaching and assessing qualification.

Experience

Essential

  • Professional clinical experience in appropriate speciality.
  • Ability to successfully manage people and change.
  • Experience in Audit.

Desirable

  • Experience in managing COPD and/or Asthma in primary and / or secondary care settings.

Knowledge

Essential

  • A knowledgeable clinician with the ability to apply evidence-based practice.
  • A sound knowledge of professional policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of clinical governance & a commitment to clinical supervision and staff development.

Desirable

  • A good understanding of current issues relating to the NHS.
  • Experience in Policy/Service Development

  • Manage a patient caseload.
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly.
  • Ability to work in a clinic or patients home environment.
  • Patient focused.
  • Excellent communication skills
