An exciting opportunity has become available for a full-time Phlebotomist to join our busy and supportive team, providing a high-quality phlebotomy se...

  • To deliver high quality care to the housebound patients of Paignton and Brixham and work as part of multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with primary care and secondary care.
  • An ability to effectively communicate routine information to patients/carers where co-operation is required and where there may be barriers to understanding
  • Responsible for planning and organising own day to day work tasks and activities within an occasionally unpredictable environment
  • To obtain high quality blood samples from patients in the home environment

Qualifications and training

Essential

  • Trained Phlebotomist
  • Good general education

Knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic IT skills / ability to use ICE electronic system
  • Ability to maintain accurate written records

Specific Skills

Essential

  • Previous experience of working in the home environment
  • Manual dexterity for collection of blood samples from patients

Desirable

  • Broad range of simple nursing procedures eg. Venepuncture, BP monitoring
