To communicate daily, and work closely with, the Paediatric Audiologist.
To communicate daily with schools, school nursing staff, health visitors, ENT department staff and specialist teachers within the Education department, communicating complex factual information on test procedures, results and outcomes.
To communicate complex and sensitive information to parents/carers on a daily basis using tact, sensitivity, persuasion and reassurance.
To work closely on an individual basis with school age children of all ages in schools, using tact, sensitivity, persuasion and tact.
To work closely with pre-school children and their parents in clinic situations.

Qualifications
Essential: - oNVQ 3 Childcare/Business Admin/NNEB/CACHE diploma in Childcare or equivalent
Knowledge & experience
Essential: - Experience of working with young children/babies; - Previous NHS working structures; - IT skills - data handling skills
Desirable: - Knowledge of Audiology services; - Experience of working in the clinical environment of the NHS
Skills & Aptitudes
Essential
- Able to relate to and interact with children
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence in interpersonal relationships with the ability to work in multi-professional teams
- Planning and organisational skills, ability to prioritise workload and to meet deadlines
- Ability to work without direct supervision
Other requirements
Essential
- Ability to travel throughout Cumbria and elsewhere to represent the Directorate independently of public transport
