We are seeking Midwives with a passion for working in the Community setting, Do you want to be a midwife that people remember? Would you like the priv...

Providing evidence based antenatal and postnatal care within the community setting, following local and national guidance.

Having a good knowledge of safeguarding and working within a multidisciplinary team.

Supporting women with choice to birth at home.

Providing education and support for pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period within a varied framework ie. face to face, sign posting to internet based support and external agencies where appropriate.

Team working including a pro rata on call commitment.

Managing a caseload of birthing people and their families, taking responsibility for all aspects of their care, referring appropriately and working towards a model of continuity of care as outlined in Better Births (2016).

Education and Qualification

Essential

  • Registered Midwife
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

  • Relevant Degree or evidence of further study and experience to the equivalent
  • Examination of the Newborn
  • Sign Off Mentor

Experience

Essential

  • Communicating effectively with women, staff and other agencies
  • Facilitate effective team working
  • Demonstrate an ability to apply research to practice and to support changes in practice as a result of clinical audit
  • Ability to practice within the scope of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct

Desirable

  • Evidence and understanding of safeguarding processes and referral to multidisciplinary team

Key Skills

Essential

  • Ability to write reports, guidelines, etc
  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Ability to develop self and others to use evidence based practice
