Community Adult Nurse Bladder and Bowel

The successful applicant will have a passion for delivering

high quality care to people with bladder and bowel dysfunction. You will be

dynamic and caring with excellent communication skills as patient education and

support is an important component of the job.

Prior experience in

bladder and bowel dysfunction and the promotion of continence is desirable,

however, this is an opportunity to develop specialist knowledge and skills.

Your professional development will be supported by a mentor and regular

clinical supervision.

Assessment and management of

patients with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction.

Performing clinics and home

visits within County Durham and Darlington, these will be a combination of

telephone and face to face assessments and reviews.

You must be able to produce ALL certificates stated essential in the person specification or you will not be able to complete pre-employment checks.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Experience

Statutory Registration

Essential: - Registered Nurse (adult) on part 1 of the NMC register; - Valid UK NMC PIN

Desirable: - First degree; - Community prescribing or willing to work towards

Qualifications

Desirable: - Bladder & Bowel dysfunction experience or willing to work towards; - Teaching / mentorship qualification or willing to work towards

Special Skills & Knowledge

Essential: - Knowledge of issues in bladder and bowel care; - IT skills

Desirable: - Knowledge of budgetary control
