This role is primarily based at our Poole office, with travel to our Head Office in Portland required once or twice per week.
Are you an analytical and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys using data to influence business decisions?
We have created a new Commercial Analyst role to provide financial and commercial insight across our Commercial team supporting our Bids, Contracts and Procurement functions. You will help us assess new business opportunities, develop tender pricing, understand the profitability of our live contracts, and identify opportunities for savings.
This is a pivotal role working directly with the board and closely with Finance, Operations, Business Development, and Procurement. You will turn complex data into practical recommendations that support profitable growth, sustainable contracts and better commercial decision-making.
What you will do - Develop cost and pricing models for bids and new business opportunities.
- Provide financial analysis to support bid/no-bid decisions.
- Complete tender pricing schedules accurately and within deadlines.
- Analyse contract profitability, margins, fee rates, occupancy and productivity.
- Develop dashboards and reports identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Model the impact of wage increases, inflation and other cost pressures.
- Support annual fee uplift submissions to local authorities, NHS commissioners and other funding bodies.
- Analyse supplier expenditure and identify potential savings and efficiencies.
- Support procurement exercises, supplier evaluations and contract negotiations.
- Prepare business cases, sensitivity analyses and commercial reports for senior decision-makers.
What you will bring - Previous experience in a similar commercial, finance or analytical role.
- Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting or cost modelling.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Strong numerical reasoning and attention to detail.
- The ability to work with complex datasets and explain findings clearly.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- A proactive approach and the confidence to work independently.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Relevant qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related subject.
- At least 12 months remaining on your right to work in the UK, if applicable.
Experience in health or social care, public procurement, local authority or NHS funding, or contract profitability analysis would be desirable but is not essential.
If you are looking for an opportunity to shape a brand-new role and make a visible contribution to commercial performance, we would like to hear from you.
