- To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the psychological needs of people using our services.
- To mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students
- Promote a psychological perspective both within teams and sharing with other colleagues
- Work collaboratively with team managers/ Clinical leads in the development and delivering of effective services
- Supporting specific service development projects
- The postholder will be expected to work flexibly within the service.

Registration
Essential
- HCPC registered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or DBT Therapist - PG Dip in DBT and core professional training (e.g. Nursing, Social work, OT), registered with appropriate professional registration body
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working with people from across the life span with a range of mental health issues and cognitive profiles.
- Experience across a range of psychological models including systemic, behavioural and individual therapeutic
- Candidates should demonstrate experience of working with individuals with complex emotional needs
- Experience of supervising assistant and trainee clinical psychologists (Psychologists)
- Demonstrable post registration/clinical experience and competency relevant to this care group.
- Ability to manage difficult situations with service users that have complex presentations and/or behaviours that challenge, and to manage a demanding and complex caseload
- Demonstrable ability to remain calm and compassionate when faced with highly distressing situations.
- Knowledge and Experience of delivering DBT (DBT Therapist)
- It is essential to have a driving license and access to a vehicle for all community-based post where travel across sites and/or client visits are a significant part of the role
Qualifications
Essential
- Psychologist - Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology OR DBT Therapist - PG Dip in DBT and core professional training (e.g. Nursing, Social work, OT), registered with appropriate professional registration body
