Enhance supervisees wellbeing by working

collaboratively with supervisees to facilitate in-depth reflection on issues

related to work and practice

Build solid relationships with all

teams across the organisation, both clinical and non-clinical

Providing training internally and

externally.

What

You Will Bring

University degree or Higher education

diploma in appropriate subject

Qualification in clinical supervision

Significant experience of supervising

individuals or groups

Knowledge of complex issues involved

in therapeutic work within the field of palliative care

Good planning and organisational

Resilience, reliability and excellent

communication skills

Creativity for continuous improvement

Job Purpose

This role enables us to provide clinical

supervision to our staff, both clinical and non-clinical staff on a one-to-one

basis and in groups, as well as supporting the work of Birmingham

Hospice.

The purpose of clinical supervision is to

provide a safe, facilitated space for restoration, to explore managerial

aspects of learning and practice, and to develop self-awareness through self-reflection to advance knowledge and skills.

The core elements of clinical supervision allow

non-clinicians and clinicians to share, reflect, and learn from events,

experiences, and their emotional responses within their work setting. By doing

so, clinicians and staff can benefit in terms of personal development and

professional competence.

The role requires the ability to supervise a

wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff from different professional

backgrounds and levels of expertise. At Birmingham Hospice, supervision is

offered to colleagues working in the wellbeing team, medical & nursing

staff, & non-clinical staff as required.

The clinical supervisor will work

collaboratively with supervisees to facilitate in-depth reflection on issues

related to work and practice. In each case, the joint goal is to enhance the

supervisees wellbeing, increase self-awareness, and improve the effectiveness

of each supervisee within their role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To prepare appropriately for sessions and to manage all related notes

and documentation effectively and with due regard to confidentiality.

Deliver supervision 121 and in small groups.

To have a high level of presence with all teams in the organisation

clinical and non-clinical.

To provide clinical supervision following

theoretical theories and models.

To collaborate with supervisees to contribute to the maintenance of

regular, well-timed supervision sessions.
