Band 7 Occupational Therapist - Clinical Specialist Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) Management ACTIVATE Team, E&N Hertfordshire, Kingsway Health Centre...

It is expected that applicants will have excellent communication skills and experience in delivering interventions to both individuals and groups. As educating and working with other professionals is an expected and integral part of the role experience of, and a commitment to, multi-disciplinary working is essential. Regular supervision and CPD opportunities will be provided by the Lead Clinical Psychologist within the service.

You must hold a full valid driving licence and have access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

  • To work autonomously to provide a comprehensive advanced assessment, diagnostic, treatments and management of patients with complex needs within a defined treatment cohort.
  • To provide advanced clinical expertise across the service area, participating in the development of professional competences and participation in professional appraisal systems.

Qualifications

Essential

  • HCPC Registered Practitioner.
  • BSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent e.g. Diploma
  • Evidence of advanced clinical continuing professional development o
  • Evidence of advanced clinical continuing professional development relevant to the role
  • Specific post graduate study in pertinent specific area to Masters level or equivalent
  • Significant previous relevant clinical experience related to the role
  • Demonstrable previous experience in a clinical advanced role.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in related fields at senior specialist level e.g. CFS, Personalised care planning, Cognitive behavioural therapy
  • Ability to work and interact effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Experience of treating high risk patients
  • Good organisational skills
  • Knowledge and experience of governance systems and processes
  • High level of knowledge and understanding of NHS, social care and education clinical policy

Communication

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written, including the ability to liaise and negotiate
  • Communicate or receive complex and sensitive information
  • Knowledge of barriers to understanding & ability to explain complex issues simply
  • Group presentation skills
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Ability to think and develop implementation plans tactfully and creatively.to establish positive relationships and mutual respect with people at all levels
