- To accept health care referrals, assess need and oversee all health care assessment to support service user's access timely treatment.
- Provide harm reduction advice, information and support with an emphasis on safer drug use, safer sex, HIV, Hepatitis A, B and C and other blood borne infections
- Be responsible for maintaining a robust health care case load supporting the health inequalities agenda.
- To carryout clinical interventions such as urine screening and CIWA-Ar and COWS, vital sign assessment, ECG's including blood pressure, and other physical health checks.
- To carryout alcohol and drug detoxes supported by the Band 7 Nurse Prescriber.
- To carry out comprehensive assessments, construct care packages with multi-disciplinary colleagues where required, review care plans in a structured format and manage onward referral.

Qualifications
Essential
- Nursing Qualification RGN/RMN
Desirable
- Relevant training / Qualification in substance use or health care for hard-to-reach individuals
- CBT
- Motivational Interviewing
- Brief solution focussed therapy
- Mapping techniques (ITEP/BTEI)
Experience
Essential
- Considerable experience of working with drug and alcohol
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to promote service user involvement.
