These responsibilities will be carried out under the guidance of the Clinical Research Operations Manager.
- General
- To ensure that research studies are conducted and managed in accordance with the Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care, regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practice, Trust SOPs, guideline, processes and procedures.
- To ensure fellowships and personal awards are management and reported in accordance with Funders' requirements and timelines and in line with Trust SOPs, guidelines, processes and procedures.
- To be responsible for cascading any updates and governance requirements communicated by the Clinical R&D Office in a timely manner to the relevant research teams and fellows in HSR and/or other Clinical/Research Units.
- To provide an efficient research coordination service to the Unit Lead, ensuring that research studies, fellowships and personal awards fulfil all statutory requirements.
- To oversee the day-to-day management of research studies, fellowships and personal awards in accordance with the HSR SOPs, guidelines, processes and procedures.
For further information please refer to the job description and personal specification Research Set Up Liaise with commercial companies and non-commercial funders to establish funding and sponsor contracts. Assist with the Preparation of CCR and REC submissions with oversight of the research team. Research Conduct Ensure research studies are conducted in accordance with GCP and RM/ ICR SOPs and relevant Trust policies. Ensure research study specific responsibilities delegated by the Sponsor to the Chief / Principal Investigator are carried out in accordance with sponsor contract and regulatory requirements. Research Closure To ensure research study, fellowship and personal award closure is notified to Clinical R&D Office, Research Funding Team, Sponsor, REC and the regulator as appropriate. To ensure appropriate archiving of research study files. Other Responsibilities To be responsible for maintaining own professional development and be aware of current practices and future developments within the Trust and National Health Service. Any necessary amendments will be discussed in full with the post holder.

Education/Qualifications
Essential: - Life Sciences (or equivalent) degree
Desirable: - Recent GCP training
Experience
Essential: - Demonstrable experience of working in a clinical research setting
Desirable: - Experience of working in the NHS or equivalent; - Experience of working in the field of oncology
Skills Abilities/knowledge
Essential
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent IT skills including proficient use of Microsoft applications
- Experience of data entry and data management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact confidently with experts and non-experts
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to maintain adherence to written procedures
Desirable: - Understanding of clinical trials and regulations governing clinical research
Other Requirements
Essential: - Able to work on both sites and from home to be flexible to meet the needs of the role
