Clinical Nurse Specialist UGI Chronic Benign Conditions

The Upper Gastro-Intestinal Chronic Benign conditions Clinical nurse specialist will play an integral role in the development of a quality driven service to all patients treated at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust and particular focus at St Helier Hospital.The CNS has a leadership role within the Trust and is responsible for the development of the innovative nursing practice within the UGI speciality.The post holder is expected to facilitate the development of other nurses in order to benefit patient care and to be an educational recourse to all members of the Trust wide multidisciplinary teams (MDT) regarding the provision of care.The CNS will help to promote and co-ordinate a seamless pathway of care from diagnosis though treatment and surveillance for patients Barrett's oesophagus and IPMN.Central to this role will be a collaborative approach with the MDT providing a comprehensive patient focused service.
