An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our clinical effectiveness team in our cardiothoracic centre at ...

Provide and receive complex information concerning practice development and audit to and from a range of services and clinical teams.Report clinical audit and effectiveness information to a wide variety of clinical staff.Provide clinical audit reports and presentations as required.Assist in the co-ordination, facilitation and embedding of high-quality clinical audit and effectiveness programmes.Assist in the development, implementation, analysis and monitoring of clinical audit based on organisational, local and national priorities.Working with the Head of Clinical Effectiveness/Clinical Effectiveness Manager/Senior Clinical Effectiveness Officer, ensuring the annual clinical improvement and effectiveness programme is supported.Analyse, understand and interpret national guidance and clinical audit data and recommend the best course of action.Support work streams to ensure the Trust has sufficient evidence to meet Care Quality Commission regulations.Undertake any other ad hoc duties related to clinical audit and effectiveness, as directed by the Head of Clinical Effectiveness or Clinical Effectiveness Manager.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate education at level 4 (NVQ level 4 or equivalent)
  • GCSE in Maths and English C or above

Desirable

  • Clinical Audit Training or Quality Improvement Qualification

Other

Essential

  • Knowledge of information security
  • Understanding of data quality assurance

Communication skills

Essential

  • Experience in clinical audit and quality improvement methodologies
  • Teamworking
  • Meeting organisation experience and minute-taking skills
  • Excellent verbal/ written skills

Knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Previous experience of undertaking clinical audit of quality improvement project work, including audit design, data collection and analysis, data validation, report writing and presentations.
  • Use and maintenance of databases
  • Proven report writing skills
  • Advanced technical skills (use of Excel, including pivot tables and analytic functions, audit software, MS Forms, PowerPoint)

Desirable

  • Project management experience
  • Understanding of clinical governance and project governance
  • Use of SPC
  • Use of clinical and pharmaceutical terminology
