Job description

Manx Care is seeking an experienced and inspirational senior dental leader to join us as Clinical Director for Dental Services on a 6-month limited-te...

This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of NHS salaried dental services on the Isle of Man, working within a close-knit health and care system committed to high-quality patient care, continuous improvement and integrated service delivery. In return, Manx Care offers a supportive professional environment, opportunities for development and free parking at many sites.

We are looking for a senior dental professional with substantial leadership experience, a strong commitment to clinical governance and quality improvement, and the ability to lead teams through change with confidence, compassion and clarity. As a visible and influential leader, you will build trusted relationships, drive service performance and support the delivery of safe, sustainable and accessible dental services for the community.

If you are ready to make a lasting impact on dental services while enjoying the exceptional quality of life the Isle of Man has to offer, we would love to hear from you.

A workplace that invests in you

A competitive salary that increases each 12 months until you reach the salary maximum.

Annual leave starting from 32 days and 10 Bank Holidays.

Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, the IOM Public Service offers two pension arrangements: the Isle of Man Government Unified Scheme 2011 or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) Arrangement.

You may be eligible for a Blue Light Card, unlocking a wide range of exclusive discounts on shopping, food and leisure activities at hundreds of popular high street and online retailers.

Our on-site education and training centre, Keyll Darree, comprises a lecture theatre, well stocked medical library, training facilities and a state-of-the-art simulation lab which is operated by trained simulation practitioners.

We recognise the need for all medical staff on the Island to maintain connections with medicine in the United Kingdom and encourage links with other units, as well as providing study leave with pay and expenses to attend approved conferences and workshops.

Free on-site car parking.

Step away from NHS pressures and demands! The Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.

Access to the Learning, Education and Development training facility, which is exclusively for Public Service employees, to keep on top of your continuous professional development.

Access to the staff canteen at Noble’s Hospital where you can purchase affordable food and drinks in your breaks.

Free access to the Isle of Man Government Staff Welfare Service which offers professional counselling, emotional support and signposting on a wide range of issues.

Accommodation may be available for the first 6 months in your role at a reduced rate for non-Island residents, subject to availability.

By joining Manx Care on the Isle of Man, you'll enjoy the opportunity to work in a healthcare system that is similar to, but separate from, the NHS, offering a refreshing change from many of the pressures and demands experienced elsewhere in the UK.

We are committed to supporting your professional development through a wide range of learning and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities, including access to our well-equipped Education and Training Centre.

Many of our sites offer free on-site parking, and we provide generous relocation packages for the majority of our roles to help make your move as seamless as possible.

Beyond work, the Isle of Man offers an exceptional quality of life, with stunning landscapes, a safe and welcoming community and excellent schools. Residents also benefit from lower personal tax rates than those found in many other European jurisdictions, helping you make the most of your earnings.
