This exciting opportunity involves providing leadership opportunities and specialist clinical expertise. Providing a high standard of palliative nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, you will support families in making the most of the time they have together.

As a Childrens Nurse, you will work both autonomously and collaboratively with the team assessing, planning and delivering high-quality palliative care.

You will

Coordinated holistic, individualised care for children with complex palliative health needs

Support and guide families through emotionally challenging journeys

Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to care planning, clinical audits, service development, and safeguarding

Supervise and support care staff, students, and newly qualified nurses and nurse associates

Deliver nursing care that is clinically effective, evidence-based, and always centered on the childs needs and meet the Dougie Mac core values and NMC standards, either within the hospice building or in the community/family home

Attend mandatory training for clinical competencies required for this role

Ensure that all service user documentation is kept up to date in accordance with the Hospice policy, using the electronic patient record system

To work as a role model within the team, motivating staff and setting an appropriate example
