We are looking for an enthusiasticBand 5 nurse to work at our CCC - Aintree site in the Marina Dalglish Centre.

Main Duties of the JobDeliver safe, high-quality cancer care and systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT)Assess, plan and evaluate patient care within the chemotherapy setting.Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure an excellent patient experience.Participate in education, training and professional development activities.Maintain compliance with Trust policies, professional standards and clinical governance requirements.

As we deliver treatments in sector hubs and clinicsacross the Wirral and Liverpool, there will an element of cross cover required during training and once training has been completed. This will include travelling to all of our peripheral sites:

  • CCC Liverpool
  • CCC Aintree
  • CCC Ormskirk
  • CCC Wirral
  • CCC Chester
  • CCC Halton
  • CCC Private Unit Wirral
  • CCC Private Unit Liverpool
  • Clatterbridge in the Community

Knowledge & Expertise

Essential

  • Previous nursing experience
  • Knowledge of various drugs and their interactions and side effects.
  • Knowledge of NMC code of conduct

Desirable

  • UKONS SACT Passport.
  • NM6 995 Chemotherapy Administration and Care
  • NM6 999 Foundations in Cancer Care
  • NM6 998 Cancer Treatments and Care
  • NM6 996 Chemotherapy Principles and Care

Qualifications

Essential

  • 1st level registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • In date PIN number with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Desirable

  • Degree or working towards

Experience

Essential

  • Previous nursing experience in a hospital setting
  • Previous nursing experience in a hospital setting

Desirable

  • Previous Oncology/Haemato-oncology experience
  • Cannulation/Phlebotomy.
