  • Ensuring a good standard of quality control during preparations, cooking and despatch of food. This will include documentation of the process in accordance with a safe food system.
  • To prepare special diets.
  • Serving meals and taking of cash for dining room till whenever necessary.
  • Responsible for practising good hygiene in regard to all aspects of the working of a catering department and including the maintenance of a good standard of personal hygiene
  • Assisting with the washing/drying up at lunch time.
  • Ensuring that all freezers/fridges are cleaned and defrosted regularly.
  • To complete food orders when required
  • Assisting with ward stores order.
  • To be responsible for the induction and training of new catering staff and that all training is documented.
  • Responsible for taking receipt of goods and putting away in the appropriate area's
  • Accepting and checking delivery of goods as necessary.
  • The handling of money and filling in the appropriate form.

Trainning and Qualifications

Essential

  • Ability to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate - Level 2

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable previous commercial catering experience

Knowlegde and Skills

Essential

  • General awareness of safety in the workplace, Be able to follow Instruction and prioritise workload
  • Good communicational skills
  • Ability to prioritise work
  • Good Organisational skills
