Capacity Manager

• To be familiar with all aspects of Patient Flow/Bed Management processes operating within in the Trust. To ensure that site safety and discharge meetings/forums are coordinated and managed within agreed guidelines. This willinclude collating reports and working with Divisions and Consultants to meet the targets/Trust standards. To ensure that patients identified for discharge by clinical teams are actually discharged as soon as possible by providing guidance andadvice. . To liaise with clinical teams to agree plans to support the delivery of capacity to accommodate demand of each clinical specialty. To maintain the necessary database sets held for Patient Flow and participate in local audit activity To lead on defined aspects of Patient Flow projects and work to ensure to achieve pre-agreed deadlines and targets. To ensure that a minimum number or zero patients are undated before breaching specialty targets. Work closely with the IT Department on CapMan weekly discharge reports and any other key performance indicators included in thedashboard for capacity management. Prepare and distribute relevant information to Wards areas /Directorates for performance analysis and review. Have a comprehensive understanding of National agenda, ensuring internal and external processes support the local and nationalagendas. Ensure appropriate training is provided for all staff directly or indirectly involved in patient flow and where necessary carry out trainingfor staff. Identify and update continuous improvement of site safety/capacity/patient flow plans with the aim to enhance efficiency and minimal risk to allprocedures.
• Update existing Standard Operating Procedures where necessary and introduce new Standard Operating Procedures tosupport the efficient running of Outpatient services. Liaise with Divisions/Directorates to ensure best use of clinic capacity, monitoring and utilisation is actualise

Essential

• Demonstrable experience of working within an Acute Trust.
• Knowledge of working with Electronic Patient Systems
• Demonstratable NHS experience

• Knowledge of complex discharge processes.
• Knowledge of legal requirements.

• GCE/GCSE English or equivalent, Grade C or above.
• Degree or equivalent in management
• Demonstrable experience of corporate processes driving change in clinical pathways

• A specific understanding of the confidential nature of the work in hand.
• IT Literate and experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

• Ability to maintain complete and accurate record systems/databases.
