The post-holder will: -
Provide clinical and professional leadership for the North West CAMHS Team alongside other colleagues, including clinical supervision to the medical team and to provide clinical leadership to the wider MDT.
Maintain a workload of approximately 50-60 open cases at any one time and approximately 1 new case seen per week
Attend at local governance meetings to contribute towards business planning.
Lead on the improvement of the quality of care within the team and contribute to improving quality across the system.
Be responsible for carrying out administration in line with the Trust's policies in relation to patient care, supervision of resident doctors and continuing professional development (CPD).
The Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Trust's friendly and dedicated North West Sussex Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Team. The 0-18 age population in this locality, covered by the service is approximately 100.000
You will have the opportunity to make a real difference to improve the lives of children and adolescents, working with colleagues in the team to provide a full range of outpatient and inpatient services and helping to manage transition between these and other services through outreach services.

Qualifications
Essential
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Desirable
- MRCPsych
- Additional clinical qualifications. SL
ELIGIBILITY
Essential
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
Desirable
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
CLINICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Excellent knowledge in specialty
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
Desirable
- Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
