An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Burns Specialist Care for a motivated Band 6 Nurse with an interest in Burns Specialist Outreach Nursing...
The post holder will be expected to facilitate teaching in the community in liaison with community / GP services to ensure continued high-quality patient care is maintained and working within the framework of Trust policiesWorking collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and attending weekly MDT meetings to maintain the highest standards that will enhance the patients' experience and recovery.Provide specialist burn care service to patients in community, be efficient in managing a patient caseload and able to support the patient's families, carers and friends.

Education, Qualifications & Training
Essential
- Good general education
- Registered Nurse (Level 1)
- Recognised Teaching and Assessing course (MSPP/PASS)
- Evidence of further continued professional development (Advance Burn Care module, MSPP/PASS)
Desirable: - Extended Nurse Training
Experience
Essential
- Sound 5 years' experience as a band 5 nurse in a burns ward
- Additional experience in a speciality other than burns (i.e. plastic surgery)
- Previous experience as Burns Outreach Nurse
- Experience of teaching students, HCA's and qualified staff in the clinical setting
Desirable: - Previous experience as shift/team leader
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
Essential
- Ability to verbally communicate clearly in English
- Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
- Knowledge of evidence and research-based practice
- Managerial and leadership ability
Desirable: - High motivation and ability to motivate others
Special Circumstances
Essential: - Ability to travel different community sites
Desirable: - Ability to work required shift pattern
