Job description

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust are searching for an experienced and passionate Radiography Department Assistant to join their highly skilled team.

To be an active member of the Diagnostic Imaging team, assisting the Radiologists and Radiographers with the provision of clinical care in a safe environment to a defined caseload of patients.

  • Ensure the maintenance of high standards of care in an environment, which promotes equality, emotional support and sensitivity for all individuals.
  • Care provided must be in adherence to departmental, local and national policies.
  • To adhere and maintain the required level of competencies within the specialised areas of the Diagnostic Imaging Department and Breast Screening
  • Assisting maintaining a high quality of patient care, for patients requiring interventional procedures. Setting up of trolleys for complex procedures using an aseptic technique. Caring for patients comfort, dignity and privacy at all times
  • Ensure that relationships and own behaviour are managed in line with the Behavioural Framework competencies.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Previous experience of working in a client / patient centred service
  • Physically capable of performing the role and responsibilities expected of the post holder e.g. manual handling of patients

Experience

  • Able to use own initiative to cope in a variety of situations
  • Good time management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate others and maintain own motivation
  • Can demonstrate the key competencies of the Behavioural Framework
