The responsibilities will include training, teaching and supervision of students,qualified junior staff and assistant staff in both the delivery of the service andtheir individual development needs in a motivational manner.Assisting in and managing, workflow and ensuring all data inputs are recordedfor both patient record integrity and statistical evaluation purposes.Encouraging the highest professional and technical standards in all staff, usingpersonal example and constructive supervision.Demonstrating partnership in professional development issues, maintaining ahigh level of technical and theoretical skills through personal CPD.Participating in the governance of the department in areas including riskmanagement, health and safety, research and audit activities.

Education & professional Qualifications

Essential

  • DCR (R) or BSc Diagnostic Radiography
  • HCPC registration

Desirable

  • IV Cannulation Certificate

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial post qualification experience
  • Knowledge and experience with NHS Targets and Care pathways
  • Experience dealing with a diverse range of patient presentations
  • Experience in specialised imaging techniques CT and MRI Experience using PACS and RIS and an understanding of its significance for good service management and patient care

Desirable

  • Experience of performing Quality Assurance tests and management of a robust QA program

Skills and aptitudes

Essential

  • Ability to work independently and also within a team
  • Ability to prioritise and organise demands and multi-task.
  • Willing to take direction and learn from more experienced colleagues
  • IV Cannulation experience and administration of Contrast

Desirable

  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of cross sectional anatomy

  • Keen interest and understanding of a range of current and future imaging techniques and practices
