This is to cover maternity leave only for 12 months.

The post holder will be required towork 27 hours per week (0.72 WTE) in collaboration with existing post holder to make up the 1.0 WTE.

The successful candidate must be a Registered Midwife with UK

NMC Pin and have evidence of continuous professional development.

Evidence of SSSA/ mentorship/ teaching or equivalent, substantial post registration experience, with evidence of working in all areas of maternity.

Experience working with students/ preceptorship midwives working asa role model who is committed to improvement of standards and Patient care.

They will need presentation skills excellent time management and organisational skills, excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills. They need to be proficient in venepuncture, cannulation, perineal suturing and episiotomy with the ability to give effective feedback and feedforward to maternity staff. To be able to assess competence and level of understanding.

The practice education facilitator roles are designed to influence the quality of the clinical learning environment by providing support, educational input and development activities for Practice Assessors/Supervisors and students.

The role aims to enhance the quality of the practice learning experience and positively contribute to the future workforce.

The postholder will be required to promote high standards of care through role modelling the demonstration of clinical expertise, leadership and professionalism, whilst working along-side the Senior Team and training team, assisting in the delivery of effective programmes and the facilitation of high quality learning.

A key element of the role will be to facilitate a positive learning environment in the classroom, simulation and clinical areas where student development is encouraged and supported, and talent is fostered and enhanced.

Education
