Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist

• Delivering specialist respiratory assessment and treatment for patients with chronic respiratory conditions across a variety of community settings.
• Managing a complex caseload and developing personalised treatment plans to promote independence, self-management and improved health outcomes.
• Contributing to the assessment and delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation programmes within hospital and community venues.
• Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Therapy Support Workers and Respiratory Consultants.
• Providing education, advice and support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
• Supervising, supporting and developing junior staff, students and support workers.
• Participating in service development, clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
• Supporting the implementation of evidence-based practice and continuous improvement across Community Respiratory Services.
• Participating in the physiotherapy on-call service following completion of training and competency assessment.

Essential

• *Diploma / degree in Physiotherapy.
• *Registered with Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC).
• *A levels or equivalent qualification.
• *Good standard of general education including GCSE Maths and English grade C and above.
• *Evidence of CPD including recent post graduate training relevant to clinical speciality.

Desirable

• *Member of specialist interest group.
• *Attendance at Clinical Educators course

Essential

• *Demonstrates clinical experience enabling the post holder to manage a caseload of patients within this speciality / within the NHS with experience of elderly and frail elderly, respiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
• *Experience of working on a physiotherapy on-call service.
• *Experience of working with student physiotherapists and assistants.
• *An ability to analyse clinical and non-clinical complex facts and situations, which require the interpretation and comparison of a range of options.
• *An ability to plan, organise, formulate and adjust complex plans.
• *An ability to supervise and delegate work to physiotherapists, assistants and students.
