Autism Support Worker - Witney
A fantastic opportunity has become available for an Autism Support Worker to join a welcoming specialist school in Witney. The school supports children and young people aged 2 to 19 who have a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, learning needs and associated behavioural or emotional needs. Some students find learning in a traditional classroom environment challenging and benefit from a more personalised approach to education and support. As an Autism Support Worker, you will work closely with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, delivering targeted interventions designed around their individual learning and developmental needs. The Role This is a rewarding and varied role where no two days are the same. You will become an important part of the students' support network, helping them to engage with learning, develop their confidence and make progress towards their individual goals. Your responsibilities may include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students with autism and special educational needs.Delivering targeted learning and developmental interventions under the guidance of teaching and specialist staff.Supporting students to develop their communication, social, emotional and learning skills.Creating a calm, supportive and engaging learning environment.Supporting students who may find the classroom environment challenging, helping them to access learning in a way that works for them.
