Job description

Autism Support Worker - SEN School - Brixton

Are you passionate about supporting children with autism and looking for a role where you can truly make an impact? A dynamic and growing SEN school in Brixton is seeking a dedicated Autism Support Worker to join their team and support pupils in a nurturing, well-equipped environment in September 2026.

Location: Brixton

Pay: £100-110 per day

Contract: Full-time

When: September 2026

  • Easily accessible location with excellent transport connections
  • Purpose-built facilities tailored for students with special educational needs
  • Small class sizes for more focused, meaningful support
  • A friendly, inclusive, and collaborative school culture
  • Experienced teaching staff in every classroom
  • Competitive Inner London pay rates

This is a full-time, long-term position starting after the summer break, with the potential to continue beyond the academic year.

As an Autism Support Worker, you'll play a key role in supporting pupils with autism and complex needs. You'll work in a structured, supportive classroom setting, helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Delivering engaging, personalised activities
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and life skills
  • Helping to maintain a calm and positive learning environment

  • Has experience with (or a strong understanding of) ASD and complex needs
  • Is patient, empathetic, and approachable
  • Feels confident working both one-to-one and within a classroom
  • Builds strong relationships with students and colleagues
  • Is passionate about supporting children with SEN

Experience is helpful but not essential - attitude, commitment, and willingness to learn are just as important.

  • Experience as an Autism Support Worker, Teaching Assistant, or similar role (preferred)
  • A genuine interest in supporting children with autism and SEN
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
