We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team at our specialist residential services: Hollyhurst, Thornfield Grange and Oaklands.This role will be working full time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
Hollyhurst Hollyhurst is a specialist residential service with nursing, supporting people with learning disabilities and complex needs in Darlington, County Durham. The specialist MDT led team support people who have additional mental or physical health needs and behaviours that may challenge.
Thornfield GrangeThornfield Grange is a specialist residential service with nursing for adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. Based in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, Thornfield Grange supports individuals who have behaviours that may challenge, as well as those who have significant difficulties with social engagement. OaklandsOaklands is a specialist residential service with nursing, supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs in Hexham, Northumberland. The team support individuals who have additional mental or physical health needs and behaviours that may challenge.Your Day-to-Day…We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the psychological care of patients at the service by assisting the Qualified Psychologist with;• Contributing to assessments, scoring and reporting (verbal / written)• Clinical formulation and implementing care plans for psychological treatment• Planning, delivering and evaluating individual / group programmes• Administration, audit, research and service developmentWe’re looking for someone who is…• Degree qualified in Psychology (2:1 or above) or equivalent• BPS (British Psychological Society) Accredited• Preferably experienced in health care and/or in an Assistant Psychologist role• Passionate about learning and working as part of an interdisciplinary team• Qualified to Master’s degree level or higher in Psychology (preferable)Why Cygnet?
