The post-holder will be experienced in supporting additional needs, implementing reasonable adjustments and creating individual support plans for a range of needs and disabilities. Experience in the apprenticeship or further education sector would be beneficial, alongside knowledge of additional Learning Support Funding (LSF) claims. This role provides the opportunity for someone with knowledge and experience in SEND to own our apprenticeship inclusion processes.
- The role will involve working directly with learners to understand support needs, provide one-to-one support, keep robust documentation and produce data around additional needs.
- The post-holder will identify learner needs and use referral pathways for dyslexia diagnostics and workplace needs assessments.
- The role will also involve reviewing SEND evidence and making applications to external bodies for assessment adjustments and funding.
- The post-holder will liaise with Line Managers and Educators as part of learner support packages and work closely with the Apprenticeships Manager to progress the apprenticeships Inclusion strategy.
- The post-holder will take ownership of SEND support for apprentices and have the opportunity to shape new processes.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity issues in relation to education
- Extensive knowledge of education regulatory frameworks and apprenticeship policy
- Experience of supporting the provision of high quality apprenticeship programmes with workforce impact
- Experience of working with an education, training and learning department and/or training providers
- Experience of working to the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of awarding and regulatory organisations
- Ability to prioritise tasks, and to manage conflicting demands on time and resources, to deliver objectives
Desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and learner support for apprentices
