This is a system-wide post with a focus on provision of on-site clinical and professional support to partners across the footprint of North Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Care Partnership - Fenland, Huntingdon and Peterborough. CUH is the host organisation and the employer. The system Consultant/Lead Pharmacist - Older People, also hosted by CUH, is the line manager. Honorary contracts will be facilitated to enable delivery of direct patient care to patients under the care of partner organisations where necessary e.g. North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NWAFT) and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT).

Qualifications
Essential
- 1.Masters level degree in pharmacy.
- 2.Registered as a pharmacist with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- 3.Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy/General Pharmacy Practice (or equivalent) *.
- 4.Registered as an independent prescriber with the GPhC.
Desirable
- 1.MSc in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent qualification)*.
- 2.Leadership or management development course.
- 3.Risk management training.
- 4. Educational Qualification
- 5.Member of Royal College of Pharmacy
- 6.Research degree (MSc,MRes, PhD) or working towards this qualification.
Experience
Essential
- 1.Extensive recent post-registration experience as a clinical pharmacist (hospital or primary care)_ at band 8a (or equivalent) in the specialist clinical area
- 2.Recent significant experience of patient consultation.
- 3.Recent practical experience of independent prescribing in the specialist clinical area.
- 4.Highly specialised knowledge of drugs and therapeutic trends in specialist clinical area.
- 5.Experience of the practical implementation of national guidance in drug use (e.g. NICE).
- 6.Experience of documenting pharmaceutical care issues in patient records.
- 7.Experience of writing professional reports.
- 8.Experience of developing and reviewing patient group directions and shared care guidelines, drug policies and treatment guidelines.
- 9.Evidence of having written, supervised, conducted and implemented the outcomes of clinical audit.
- 10.Experience of the practical application of antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
- 11.Experience of drug expenditure analysis and reporting.
- 13. Experience of the management of high-cost and high-risk medicines.
- 14. Experience as a personal tutor to a range of pre- and post-registration pharmacy staff groups.
- 15. Experience of developing and leading on projects including change management and service development.
- 16. Experience of working within a regional or national group to implement new or changed guidance.
- 17.Previous management experience with responsibility for pharmacy staff
Desirable
- 1.Extensive recent post-registration experience as a clinical pharmacist in the specialist clinical area at band 8a (or equivalent) in more than one setting e.g. hospital, intermediate care, primary care, intermediate care, community pharmacy
- 2.Experienced clinical pharmacist who has covered a range of clinical specialities in more than one setting.
- 3.Experience of managing and supervising a research project.
- 4.Experience of writing for pharmaceutical or educational publications.
- 5.Experience of horizon scanning.
- 6.Experience of leading on implementation of a national development or change in pharmacy practice
- 7.Expereince of strategic medicines optimisation with both internal and external stakeholders.
- 8.Experience of planning and accrediting an educational course.
- 9.Experience of research methodology, study design and grant application for practice research.
- 10.Experience of participating in an Ethics or Research and Development Committee.
Knowledge

- Advanced detailed clinical knowledge of drugs and therapeutic trends within the specialist area
- Knowledge of NICE guidance, NHSE, patient safety guidance/alerts and their local implementation
- Knowledge of UK healthcare systems and NHS changes.
- Computer literate with knowledge of Word, Powerpoint and Excel (or equivalent IT systems).
