The successful candidate will join a skilled and supportive Ultrasound team, delivering a high-quality, patient-focused service across York Hospital and satellite sites.

You will undertake a varied caseload of inpatient, outpatient, and emergency examinations, working closely with sonographers, radiologists, clinicians, and the wider multidisciplinary team. The role can be tailored to support development in specialist areas based on experience and interests.

As part of ongoing service expansion, opportunities include:

  • Interventional ultrasound
  • Vascular ultrasound (with training)
  • Advanced clinical practice
  • Clinical education and mentorship
  • Developing specialist services

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Postgraduate Master level qualification in medical ultrasound PgDip / MSc in Mediocal ultrasound and evidence of experience in scanning
  • Registration with HCPC

Knowledge, Training and Experience

Essential

  • Maintains up-to-date professional knowledge through continuous professional development (CPD), mandatory training, and engagement with current evidence-based practice.
  • Applies advanced, specialist knowledge of ultrasound imaging across abdominal, gynaecological, obstetric, paediatric, vascular and small parts examinations.

Desirable

  • Experience in clinical teaching relevant to clinical specialist area
