You willwork across a range of centresincluding our main siteRoyalStoke UniversityHospitala Major trauma Centre,CountyHospitalStafford,Stoke on Trent Community DiagnosticCentreand Haywood Community Hospital.

As part of a rotational teamofgeneral medicalsonographers supportingourbusy acutein-patient and emergencyportals7 days a week,your scan remitwillinclude abdominal, gynaecological,DVT and testicular examinations.

You will alsosupport delivery of ourGP and outpatientgeneralultrasoundservices across all sites,working alongside a supportiveteam of leadsubspeciality sonographers,whoseremitencompasses diagnosticvascular,head&neck, paediatric and MSKultrasound.

We are a training centre with all sonographers contributing to the trainingframeworkfortraineesfrom the start to transition into advanced practice.

You should hold a CASE accredited Post Graduate QualificationinGeneralMedicalUltrasound and bean autonomous practitioner withexperience of independently scanning and reporting a broad range of examinationsin line with National, Trust and Local policies and procedures.

Applications will beconsideredfromnewly qualifiedpractitionersor practitionerswho do not yet meet the full scope ofpracticerequired.

Accreditedscientistswith appropriate registrationegHCPC /NMC/CSVS/ RCTwill also be considered.

Non Obstetric Ultrasound is within the Imaging Department and the Clinical and Scientific Services Care group.

Please note this post is for general medical sonographers.

The Trusts Obstetric Ultrasound Service is provided by Maternity, Neonatal & Gynaecology services.

Experience

Essential

  • Autonomous Practitioner -independently scans and reports general medical examinations
  • Extended scope eg EP/ DVT/ Carotid/ Testes/other
  • Recent NHS experience as a sonographer
  • Evidence of continuous CPD
  • Mentor / assessor trainees

Desirable

  • Peer review audit
  • Equipment Quality Assurance

Essential

  • Case accredited post graduate ultrasound qualification / SVT or SVP qualification
  • HCPC / NMC / AVS/ RCCP or equivalent registration
