Advanced Clinical Practitioner

Your role will involve the independent and autonomous practice of history taking, clinical examination, clinical investigations and interpretation and subsequently the diagnosis and management planning of the differentiated and diagnosed patient as well as the undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions.

Demonstrating a high level of expertise within the sub-speciality, you will manage and co-ordinate care pathways for elective surgical patients and acute skull base presentations with pituitary apoplexy, tumour progression and post-operative complications and will be expected to provide autonomous clinical review of skull base patients on the Neurosurgical Ward and Intensive Care Unit. You will have expertise in coordinating patient care pathways, patient education and supporting patients and families on their recovery journey.

With a strong focus on quality improvement, the post-holder will lead and support on service development initiatives within the service to include education, research and audit promoting patient safety and patient experience. Within the role, there will be opportunity to develop autonomous Nurse Led clinics providing comprehensive clinical assessment to improve symptom management, patient education and overall patient-centred care.

Your role will be integral to patient journey from outpatient assessment, preoperative planning, inpatient, post operative supportive care and outpatient surveillance.

With Neurosciences experience you must have undertaken an MSc degree (level 7) in Advanced Clinical Practice (or working towards) and will complete a portfolio of evidence to achieve accreditation/digital badge status. You must be able to work independently within the four pillars of advanced practice which include clinical practice, management and leadership, education and research.
