About the Role Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join its Adult Social Care team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong background in reablement and promoting independence for adults within the community. Occupational Therapist - Adults Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council £28.40 per hour | Locum Contract Key Responsibilities

Carry out Occupational Therapy assessments for adults with a range of needs.Promote independence and wellbeing through person-centred interventions.Assess, recommend and implement appropriate equipment and adaptations.Support individuals through reablement pathways to maximise independence and reduce ongoing care needs.Review existing care packages and identify opportunities to improve outcomes and enhance independence.Work collaboratively with service users, families, carers, health professionals and partner agencies.Contribute to safe and effective moving and handling assessments and plans. Essential Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.HCPC registration.Previous experience working within Adult Social Care.Experience supporting reablement and rehabilitation-focused interventions.Proven experience of reviewing care packages and implementing approaches to reduce reliance on care services.Experience of reducing moving and handling requirements, including implementing single-handed care practices where appropriate.Strong assessment, communication and case management skills.Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
