Job description

Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker who believes every child deserves a safe, loving and permanent family? If so, we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for a dedicated Social Worker to join the East Riding team within One Adoption North and Humber (OANH), the Regional Adoption Agency serving East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North Yorkshire, York and North East Lincolnshire. The service works collaboratively across the region to find loving families for children who need adoption and to provide lifelong support to adoptive families.

At One Adoption North and Humber, children are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for children through high-quality adoption practice, strong partnership working and a focus on permanence, stability and lifelong relationships.

As a Social Worker within the East Riding adoption team, you will undertake a varied and rewarding role, which may include:

  • Assessing and preparing prospective adopters.
  • Supporting families through the adoption journey.
  • Contributing to family finding and matching processes for children requiring adoption.
  • Providing advice, guidance and support before and after placement.
  • Working collaboratively with children's social workers, adopters and partner agencies.
  • Delivering high-quality, relationship-based practice that promotes stability and positive outcomes for children.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Social Worker who:

  • Holds a recognised Social Work qualification and is registered with Social Work England.
  • Has experience of working with children and families.
  • Demonstrates excellent assessment, analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Is committed to delivering child-centred practice.
  • Understands the importance of diversity, inclusion and equality in adoption.
  • Can build positive relationships with children, families and professionals.
  • Is resilient, adaptable and motivated to make a difference.

Experience in adoption, fostering, permanence or looked after children services would be advantageous but is not essential.

  • The opportunity to be part of a highly regarded regional adoption agency.
  • A supportive and experienced team environment.
  • Regular supervision and professional development opportunities.
  • Access to specialist adoption knowledge, training and evidence-based practice.
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements where service needs allow.
  • Generous local government pension scheme and employee benefits package.

One Adoption North and Humber is committed to:

  • Putting children at the centre of everything we do.
  • Promoting inclusion and diversity.
  • Working collaboratively with families and partner agencies.
  • Delivering innovative, evidence-based practice.
  • Providing empathy, support and lifelong commitment to those affected by adoption.

If you are committed to helping children achieve permanence and thrive within loving families, we would love to hear from you.

Every child deserves a loving, caring, safe and secure family life. Come and help us make that vision a reality.
